Code 32 w/ gutted cat and cutout
Well, recently after I gutted my cat and put my cut out on, I started to get a code 32 while going down the highway. It only happens when I go down the highway and after about 5 minutes of driving. Every once in a while, it will shut off after about 15 minutes or so. Does or did anyone else havethis problem? If so, what do I need to do to fix it?

The EGR valve on the TBI engine requires backpressure to get it to function properly. By removing your cat, you have removed the backpressure, and so the Code 32 EGR malfunction is being triggerd. You need to put a cat back on your car.
Would that be with a positive or neagtive pressure EGR valve? There are two different kinds ya know. Most likely the Code 32 is from a EGR valve with a blown diaphram. Under cruise conditions the ECM compares the MAP sensor values to EGR comand or opening rate. If there is no MAP value change when the EGR is called upon to open then "bling", nasty yellow check engine light.

since the egr is exuasting into a partial vacuum, it should still work. Check to make sure the ports arnt clogged and check the valve to see if its malfuctioning.

When I got my 305 TPI IROC 2 years ago I'd get the same code under the same conditions. I had a cat., but no muffler, just a intermediate pipe over the axle to a set of stock looking dual tail pipes. Sounded great, but that code 32 after a few minutes of 65 mph travel was irritating. When that exhaust started leaking I put a new Edelbrock cat back exhaust on the car and haven't seen a SES light or code 32 since. Evidently the belief in a requirement for a certain amount of back pressure is correct.

I'm having the same problem. I just had my heads rebuilt, had the intake power cleaned, installed a new EGR valve and Edelbrock headers, Catco cat and Dynamax cat-back. With the new EGR valve and everything installed correctly I can't see how I might actually have an EGR failure. I'd really rather not just 'live with' this problem. I mean, the car runs fine, but I don't want that light coming on all the time. Plus, a check engine light is an automatic emissions failure.
What should I do about it?
(As I'm writing this there is a commercial on the radio explaning that a check engine light is an automatic failure, what an annoying coincidence.)

I have the same problem. 3" flowmaster cat back no cat. I belive it's caused by low back pressure. I know a few people with the same problem after exhaust mods.
Similar problem
I had a similar problem with my 2.8 camaro. Doing a thorough throttle body cleaning would make it go away for a week or two. I've read somewhere that TPI motors especially are bad about the EGR passages becoming blocked.
I replaced the 2.8 with a 3.4 using the same externals including the gutted cat and original exhaust. The light has never come on again. Leads me to suspect that there might have been something with the motor's passages.

My brother has the same exact problem with his '88. He got headers, free flow cat, and a Gale-Banks 3" cat back exhaust... and then he got the code 32. I'd say live with it, or remove the ses light.

I have the same problem, one way to fool the computer is to vary your speed for 10 or so minutes, the computer doesn't change loops for a while, and when it does, it usually doesn't give you and SES code.
the only sure fire way is to have a custom chip that skips the check for code 32.

The engine doesn't need backpressure...
There are 2 types of EGR systems. Positive and negative. One type (whichever we have) requires a certain amount of backpressure to function correctly. Most people either deal with the SES light or disable the EGR function in the PROM since our EGR doesn't work with high flow exhaust systems anyway.
