hooker vs. flowmaster

Which one is louder/performs better, the flowmaster 80 series or the hooker aerochamber. By the way, is the 80 series a 2 or a 3 chamber? How many chamber is the hooker?

Performance wise they're about equal, the Hooker flows slightly more, but probably not noticable on most street engines.

I think the Flow is louder at idle, but I prefer the Hooker for it's WOT sound.

The 80 Series is a 2 chamber, with a crossflow design. I prefer the Flowmaster sound over any other muffler, even though some other brands claim to outflow the Flowmaster.

I have not seen anything that shows one flows more then the other. As Mark stated, they are about even.

My friend has a 88 IROC 350 with a hooker. At idle im louder, at regular driving im louder, and at WOT we are about even id say. IMO Flowmaster comes with better tips too.

Both produce a great sound though at wot.

I'm not saying Hooker is louder at WOT, but IMO sounds better at WOT.

check out www.holley.com for some flow #s on a 406 engine and different mufflers.

YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH A GOOD HOOKER!!!!!! Hooker all the way. EVERYONE has Blowmaster....er Flowmaster.....the Hooker has a very throaty deep sound...at WOT my old POS screams...prolly one of the loudest cars on the road with mufflers...but at normal driving speeds the noise comes down to a tolerable deep rumble....in my mind there is no contest.:hail:

Well, I've had both at one point or another. Flowmaster is louder but not much and Hooker flat out sounds better.

C5
SS/Z28
Porsche
and countless ricers
and I have only had the hookers on for less than a month.

Flowmaster sounds way better. I like the Raven Z-33 class muffler though, it sounds sweet, a bit crackly but great sound.
