Just got my 1-3/4" Hooker SC long tube (28") headers (PN 2210) installed last weekend. Have not started the car yet, still need to get the tranny installed. Be sure you follow the instructions, they were brief yet helpful. It was a bit easier to install then I thought. I had the motor out and put the headers on as I lowered it down into place. It's a bit tight on the passenger side near the body frame and A-frames. Real tight. I may need to dimple one tube there. I won't know till the tranny is in. The driver side is great. I have a T-5, no problem with interference at all. I still need to select a y-pipe and cat back.

I'll be starting the motor up with straight headers, 2000 rpm for 20 minutes to get the rings setup, should be fun!!

I'll post more about them when I get the car on the road in the next week or two.

Oh, I spent about an hour with a dremel cleaning up the ports, lots of extra weld and debris in each port to cleanup.

I'm hoping for a little better hp and torque throughout the rpm range of 1800-6000 on the 383.

BTW, they were about $385 from Summit.

Thanks for the reply, Now I'm not to sure they will work with my T56 and Spohn x-member though. Oh well, keep me updated though. Later and good luck with that 383... I'm envious

I have them on my 406. Just fired the motor up for the first time yesterday. I bought the mufflex y-pipe and a 4inch to 3inch adapter to mate up with the rest of my exhaust. The y-pie was a hassle to get installed in just the right position. I had to dimple the pipes in a few areas. As for the headers....I had to dimple them for the starter and I had to do some surgury on one of my lower control arm mounts to get clearance to the #8 primary. All in all, I think it will be a good set-up once I get the y-pipe welded up permently. I did notice that those long tubes are significantly louder than the SLP's I took off the car. I run a hooker areochamber muffler and after 20 minutes of breakin time at 2K my head was pounding Phil I feel sorry for you bud with those open headers

I have a set of summit full length headers. i didnt even know they were full length till they showed up at my door. paid $80 for them, trying to save some cash. i had to get a custom y pipe made (wasnt counting on that) and it cost me $200. so for a few more bucks i could have got a nice edelbrock setup w/ no worries. btw those headers have 2 1/2" collectors and they dump too close to the ground. there is a bend directly after the collectors its just crappy and i dont like the setup at all. unless there is some benefit of full length headers i dont see why you would put them on an f-body (unless you're a ****up like me)
