Will SLP 1 5/8 headers bolt up to the stock Y-pipe on a 1988 IROC with single cat? WTF..Because my stock y-pipe will not, the angles are all wrong.. The Guy a SLP said it would, anyone else had this prob?

I am having the same problem, does anyone know of a cheaper place to buy a y pipe to fit theses headers than the $199 ones slp offers?

You could try asking exhaust shops to make you one...should be less than $200, it might help if you get a pic of an SLP one and show it to them

Hey 91305Z, I went to school down in your neck of the woods. There are some great farm roads to lay down some rubber

When you buy SLP headers the Y-pipe is part of the header kit. Check it out on their WEB
site.

I'm sorry to say the guy at SLP is on crack. Their headers wont bolt to the stock y-pipe. You need either their y-pipe, or build a custom one.

the SLP guy must have thought you were asking if the headers would bolt up to your stock cat. Almost all 3rdgen headers come with the Y pipe.
