I just gutted my cats, and ran the straight thru pipes, now my 80 series Flowmaster has got to go (too loud and just generally sounds poor). Anyone have experience with Dynomax and no cats? I'm thinking open-chambered exhaust and gutted cats is not the way to go. Thanks.

 

Just put the DynoMax Super turbo, crossflow style on my 92 305, no cat, and 2 1/2 inch tail pipes. It has a great sound, very bass and very mellow. none of the choppy sound you sometimes hear from Flows. Fairly quiet at idle but the sound builds up real good from about 1500rpm on up. Hope that helps.
Muffler cost me $60 new cat back pipe $25 and tailpipes $22. Pretty cheap for that good a sound. Now has been on for about 3000miles and sounds better every day.

Thanks. That is what I was hoping to hear. I have all my old pipes off already so my cost will only be $54. You're right, pretty darn cheap. Low price doesn't always mean low quality.

 

the dynomax seems to be a real quality piece, you should be happy with it. what kind of tips if any did you put on. kind of hard to find something decent that's big enough to go over that size pipe?
