HOOKER 1 3/4 LONG TUBE x-member issue

Does anyone have a problem with the crossmember beingin the way. If so,does anyone make one that can fit true dual exhaust? I have mine run under the x-member and clearance is a b%$#*. I scrape all the time. If I could only have the tubing come out straight from the headers I'd be fine. I have seen pictures of long tube exhaust having no clearance issues. Is therea x-member I am missing? I have an '82z w/ a th-400. any help would be great. Looking to put 3inch with bullets.
