Flowmaster 40 Series?

Has anyone ever had any experience with the 40-series 2 chamber mufflers? Some kid near me with a sweet sounding Nova/350 claims that's whats on his car. It's very loud, and VERY deep, almost like a mustang with a sweet exhaust. Is this what im looking for in order to get that sound? I can hear his car two blocks away, and its real deep.

1988 Iroc-Z L98, MSD 6a, Accel coil, K+N's, Airfoil, Coolant Bypass, Flowmaster, Gears, Late model Bose, I like the 80 better

I don't think flowmaster makes a crossflow 40 series wish they did. If you go to a exhaust shop they could do something for ya. I'd just get a nice cat-back from flowmaster. I have 80 series on my car sounds great. I also have 40s on my truck sounds even better.

The 80 series is really just the crossflow version of the 40 Series in case anyone was wondering.

I should have been more clear, this is for my 80, not the 88. Right now it has Hooker Super Comps. They have a wonderful sound, but they're too quiet The car has headers, and two straight pipes, no cats, all the way back to the mufflers.

I *HATE* the 80-series in my '88 Iroc. It's too high pitched. It sounds great only at idle, and when I rev the snot out of it. Then again, with the 3.70's and the aluminum driveshaft, next gear comes REAL quick so I dont get a good chance to sample it

go with the 40. its ALOT louder then the 80. Just don't do what this kid did. I saw it yesterday he has a 40 on a z28 (not sure what year but I know its 3rd gen) and just has one tail pipe coming out right smack in the middle of his bumper. C R A P
