327 Exhaust?!?!?

Anyone have an idea of a header/y pipe combo I can use... Its a 68' 327, Is there a header out there to work with double hump heads in a third gen camaro? Also what y pipe would work with those headers? I also need to know where I can get a 3 inch cat that I can gut. I would like to run headers to gutted cat to 3 inch I-pipe with inline dynomax bullet muffler to split at the back...Anyone know if this can be done? What about splitting it at the back. Would I have to get a muffler shop to make a y pipe split back there? Any help would be appreciated. I am new to 327s and their differences. Thanks

Physically it should be the same as any other small block chevy on the outside. You should be able to run any headers that are made for our cars. I would not gut the cat. Dont get me wrong, I just dont have one, but I think that you would be better off geting a high flow cat or puting a piece of pipe through yours. If you just gut it it will cause a disturbance in the flow and not help much.

The motor is a 68 but the double hump heads have no accessory hole in them. Also I plan on putting a pipe though the cat. I just wanted to have it 3 inch all the way back. I need a cat here in Virginia for viusal inspection, I just wanted to keep 3 inch as much as possible. It has stock lg4 with a gutted cat on it now. And fiinally I was asking about the headers because summit and jegs have them listed for only certain motors for thirdgens so I would I just order like 82' with no air? Anyone have any suggestions for a shorty/y pipe combo I could use for fairly cheap? Also Any ideas about splitting it at the back short of buying a loudmouth setup? Thanks!

sounds like you are in the same boat as me.

as for headers, i have hedmans 100 dollar shorties and their 100 dollar ypipe. the headers are great rigth out of the box, but the ypipe needs some help. the collectors could use some cleaning and it has single 2.5" pipe. i cut off the single 2.5" pipe and just had a shop weld 3" in there when they were welding everything up.
