I wanna rip out my cat. and put in a pipe. I need my engine to breath better. How much at a shop do you think it would cost to rip it out and put in a pipe?

I got my flowmaster done for $25 on my Jeep. simple stuff with no fab work or thought by the installer will be about that. harder stuff like changing the muffler ont he back of a F-body with the 3 pipes to fit perfect was $70.

at the muffler shop i went to he said my cat was bad so i asked him to weld a straight pipe in and he said that he cant because it would be illegal for him to do that.

 

ya having the cats is a federal thing but if the state checks it or not is all regualr people worry about. He's a professional and has to worry about the federal law.
