Installing new headers
Installing new headers
Hey, a quick question about installing some new headers on my Z28. I 'm getting the SLP 1-3/4" Primary tube headers, Single Cat without AIR from thunderracing.com. How much trouble will it be to put these on? I am planning on putting a new engine in the car soon so I thought I would go ahead and start with the exaust. They also mentioned that I will need an install kit. What all does that consist of, just gaskets? Anywas drop a line and thanks for the advice.
oh yeah, I live in good old NC where they check your car for dangerous pollutant emissions coming out of your car. I will be moving to SC though before the year is over.... so I dont need the AIR on the headers (I already took the cat out... hehe.).

The install isn't that difficult. I am assuming that these headers are going on the new engine and not the current engine. If this is the case then install will be real easy. Just install the headers before you put the new engine in. Don't buy the install kit. Everything that is in the install kit you can go to your local parts store and buy for about half the price. The only thing in the kit really are header gaskets, donut gasket and the headers bolts that useless. Get a good set of header bolts. Don't use the ones in the kit.
