What do you think of Catco converters?

I have found two different cats that are what I am looking for, but are seperated by $100. One is a Catco from Summit and the other is a Random Tech (I think) from TPiS. Which is better and why? Just so you know, the Catco is cheaper at a little more than $110, while the Random Tech is over $200.

Well, in my case I've had my exhaust with and without the Catco converter. There was absolutely no sound or power difference with or without, and for under $100 - you can't beat that.

My car also "fast passed" the very strict Maryland emissions test with the converter. Most new Low Emissions Vehicles have trouble doing that!

I did a lot of info searching a few weeks back as I was replacing the cats in my car it came stock with dual cats. Random Tech would of cost me about $400 for two converters, but I ended up ordering two catco cats from Summit delivered to my door for around $130. They are 2.5 inlet and outlet which is a little bigger than my stock cats. Many guys on the board here use catcos I like them. If I really had a lot of work done to my motor I might of gotten the Random Techs but since your mods seem similar to mine I would get the catcos and with the money you save put it towards a new Torque Converter or something. If you are using only one converter get the Catco Hi Flows check out www.discountconverter.com they are a little bigger. I wanted to get them but I could not fit them under my car side to side.

Thanks guys. I am going to order a 3" In/3" Out Catco from Summit here in a few minutes. I didn't figure that it could be a bad cat, since Summit is a pretty well respected company and I wouldn't expect them to sell crap. Anyway, thanks for your help.

Jza-

hahaha...I understand what you are saying, and I agree, but I was talking about quality parts specifically for our cars. You are very correct though about those things. lol

I just went through emissions yesterday and I surprisingly passed. When I got home I put in a replacement 3" straight pipe for my catco cat. I found that the insides of it were completely gone in only one year. Here in CT we have some pretty strict emissions but I still passed with basically no cat at all.
