i have a 91 firebird with the air injection system can i put headers on without the system just take off the hook up tubes.Will it cause problems also can u tap or weld them into the headers because headers with the hook ups are tooo $$$$

yes you can put headers on without airtubes. but you will not pass emissions (if you have any in your state) and "technically" it is illegal to remove smog equipment. you can buy regular headers and have the ait tubes welded in, if you find it cost effective.
and putting on non airtube ones will not affect how your car runs

 

I'd say just go ahead and spend the extra $$$ for the air tubed headers, and just cap off the air tubes until you need an emissions test, then hook the air system back up. But you could always drill into plain headers to put the air system on, but that might take a lot of time to make sure everything lines up properly, but it's your call. Spend the money or the time, but time is money. and on this one, I think it's better to just spend the money.
