Upgrades for 350...
Finally, the 350 is going in next week. This thing is going to be pumping ~340hp @ ~5500RPM.
The exhaust on the car is a little weird. It has the Edelbrock TES headers for the LG4, which is 1(5/8)th going into a dinky 2(1/4) Y-Pipe, into a dinky universal cat, out into a 2(1/4) pipe about 1.5 feet or so, then merges into a monster 3" pipe back through a "Flo-Pro" muffler and through the dual tips.
This setup was great for my 305 and sounded nice, but I am throwing another 100ponies on to this badboy.
Cheapest way to make the full use of the new mill?
Emissions are not really a concern. The cat is not required here with Pre '86 vehicles, but it still has to pass the sniffer, which requires a little bit of tweaking with cat-less cars at times.
I was thinking of getting an exhaust shop to fab up a 3" Y-pipe, throw the cat in the garbage and replace it with a 3" pipe to meet the rest of the system.
How's this sound? How much would a shop charge?
Thanks,
Hype.
