A.I.R. System

I just finished taking out the Smog pump and the rest of the AIR system. I capped off the AIR inlets on my headers with 1/2" pipe caps. Now I have the metal tube that used to connect the AIR inlets on the headers to the little black relay thing left over. Also I have the metal tube that goes to the Cat left over as well. Is there any way that I can get those out of there? Also, does having them there unplugged harm anything?

If you keep those tubes on there, you have to cap them off. What i did for the tubes from the cats to the black thingee (as you so eloquently referred to it as ) was cut the pipes near the cats and place caps on them. The black thingee and the smog pump (the pump below the AC on my 89) can be removed without throwing any sort of codes.

What do those tubes connect to? From what I could see one end went to the cat (which is not connected to the cat) and the other went to the black thing. the other one connected the AIR inlets on the headers to the black thing. If I'm understanding this correct I have removed everything that was connected to the tubes, so now I should just have a tube in my engine compartment. Why do I need to cap this? Do they connect to somthing else?
