If you can squeeze it into your budget, get SLP headers. If you can't, go for Edelbrock's TES. Do an archive search on both of those and you will find your pro's, con's, and prices.

I agree, start off with the TES setup. They are affordable and pretty easy to install. The SLPs' are the best out of there, short of a set of Super Comps. But they are expensive and challenging to install. Plus the install on the TES setup will help you to learn ALOT about your ride!

Good Luck!

SLP's really aren't that much more expensive if you get them through the group purchase.
What is it like 350 or 375, plus install kit so like 450.
TES are what 325? And what kind of gaskets do you get?

Honestly, go with anything besides edelbrock...why I say, well Im more than happy with mine, why do I discourage you then, cause I didnt have to put them in. My mechanic bitched to me how much of a PITA the Y-pipe was and he had to custom make a bolt long enough to hold a bracket on that uses the same hole or something I dunno, I just heard they are a bit**

edelbrocks are fine. i gained 2mph from them just i have the ORIGINAL cats on my car which i think are not helping. Once i get my test pipe in place i should gain maybe another .3 mph or something but ill the pullies on it so maybe hopfully 1mph +

Not sure why people don't know about Hooker 2055's - $349 from Summit (maybe one reason is they aren't listed in their paper catalog - search their website for HOK-2055). A few dollars more than Edelbrock, but better quality and better done. You'll need a 3" cat or adapt to the size you have now.

You can get a set of shorties for a little over $100. But, you'll have to have a y-pipe fabricated, and unless you know someone, you're probably looking at well over $200 for that alone. Don't even think about cheap long-tubes - custom-made pipes to attach to the rest of the exhaust, very expensive. The point is, unless you're willing to spend over $300 for a system you can bolt on yourself, you're not going to improve on the stock manifolds. And, once you get a muffler shop involved, the price shoots up very quickly.

I have Edelbrock TES headers, they are a great bang for the buck. The only reason I would spend $500+ on the SLPs is if I wanted 1 3/4" size, which is what I wish I did now, but nevertheless.
