Duals or Cat-back?

Hello. I just bottomed out and the stock exhaust is trashed on my 89 RS TBI. I will be doing a motor swap to a 350 (keeping the TBI) soon, maybe 2 months. My question is, should I slap on a Hooker cat-back (or whatever) system or wait until the motor swap and do headers and a true dual exhaust system? I plan to put headers on with the new 350 as well.

i don't want to spend the $250 on a cat-back, then redo it when i get the new motor in (if it'll help).

any advice? thanks in advance.

Dont bother with a true-dual setup on a street car, its not worth the money, time, or hassle.

Do the headers and exhaust when you do the engine swap, its much easier.

Kevin covers everything before I can get here. People argue about true duals all the time. If your really THAT worried just install a 3.5 custom catback with your fav muffler thats all = )

well...the decision was made for me, on my way home from OHare airport tonight, the pipe from the cat to the muffler fell off. quite a nice sound the car makes, but the cop who pulled me over called me 'sparky'. luckily i was only 2 miles from home and he gave me a friendly escort. i'll be ordering the catback since i need the car, looks like the duals will have to wait for another car. maybe the 1990 caprice wagon!

thanks for the advice...ric
