Hooker shortie headers... (#2055)
The Hooker #2055 are shortie headers with a Y-pipe right? Who's got them and how well did they perform? How about the welds and measurements, etc...

I have them but haven't installed yet. The flange gaskets they provided have smaller openings than my World 305 S/R ports, so I'm getting different ones. The flange welds aren't completely clean, so I'll take the die grinder to them after getting the gaskets.
The biggest surprise was the collector to y-pipe ball-joint connector. It only has a 1.9" opening, going into the 2-1/2" OD down-pipe of the y-pipe assy. Seems a larger opening would be beneficial. I planned on doing a fit check, then opening up that joint centered on the down pipe.
I wrote Hooker 2 months ago about the above issues, never heard from them. Other than that, though, they look like good pieces.
One other issue I haven't addressed yet: The A.I.R. pipe on the driver's side where the check valve connects faces back, whereas the stock (at least LG4) faces forward. Not sure how I'm going to route that. Does the LB9/TPI face towards the back? Don't recall looking at that.
I'm putting mine in when I put in the other engine, so I don't anticipate installation problems.

how did you manage to screw up your fuel pump putting in headers? just curious...i have those headers, just installed them, not too bad, not a single day job for me though, but i also removed AIR at the same time...driver side header is tricky...
