My friend has them on his 89 IROC 350TPI and I think they sound crappy. They are pretty loud but they sound like junk. Very hollow without any rumble or "bass" sound to them. They're loud at idle but when he revs it up they don't get much louder and they crackle when you let off the gas. Not to mention EVERYONE has flowmasters so they aren't very original sounding. The first 100 cars I heard with flows sounded good but it got annoying fast... just my opinion

I have the American Thunder 3" Cat Back on my 88 IROC. I have loved it every minute it has been on there. Sure Flowmaster has that Flowmaster sound, but you know you can trust them for that. It is pretty docile at idle and light throttle, but get on it and the thing just howls! Add a set of headers and you won't be disappointed.
The install is pretty easy also. The hardest part for me was getting the old system off the car. You will have to cut it, so have a good saw handy. Once the old one is off, the Flowmaster went on without any problems and the fit was almost perfect. Tiny adjustments can be made prior to tightening the bolts down. Good luck
