Coated/WRapped headers

Will i really see a big difference if i coat my headers opposed to leaving the slp 1 3/4 uncoated? They are stainless... so any ideas ??? I mean i dont want to pay insane amounts of money, if the coating isnt going to make a substancial difference

I hear it reduces heat and make them alittle louder, other then that I don't know.

Coating is very much worth the money. First off, the looks. A ceramic coated header will look much nicer than any noncoated header will. Second, it helps cut down on underhood heat that headers give off. Third, coating them will keep them from rusting. I will be installing my 3rd set of headers on my car and so far every set I've had I used Jethot coating. I even had my SLP headers coated which are on the car currently. Long tubes are next and they look killer with the coating.

Since you mentioned it in the subject, I have to say DO NOT WRAP HEADERS! The wrapping traps the heat and causes the temps inside to shoot up sky high. That destroys the headers very quickly, as they werent designed for that much heat. I believe every header manufacturer will void your warranty too if you wrap them.

my $ .02 worth. dont spend the 200.00 on coating a set of stainless headers unless you are really worried about the heat under your hood. the coating (i had on my tes) looked very nice and got rid of all the rust but, stainless will turn blue maybe but it wont rust. and i personally dont think it reduces the under hood heat that much. they do claim it keeps heat in which increases exhaust gas velocity which inturn makes better power (blah blah blah) you are not running top fuel, you wont notice the .5 hp gain, you will just have a nice satin aluminum look to your headers. of course it is up to you, 200 could goto some other parts for the car. also dont waste the 40 bucks (each side) for wrapping headers waste of money, and every time you goto change your plugs you will A: be itching after you touch the stuff B: getting stuff in your face (if you go from underneath)...

but again my $.02
and also, i would definately coat any mild steel headers
