hooker super comps

just got my hookers today. went to my shop to see if they would fit... it was beautiful. drivers side slid up from the bottom without a single problem. pass side on the other hand, i had to pull my mini starter out of the way and i just push it right on from the bottom also. i have no a/c no heater box crap in there right now, so maybe that is why put they went in easy , easier than i ever imagined. and they fit tighter to the block on both sides than anything else i have had on the car slp 1 3/4 and tes also. EXCEPT...............

BECAUSE it is my destiny to never get the car going...my oil lines that come out of my oil pan...one of them is right in the way of the header. too close that there is nothing i can do . no 45º no 90º...nothing! so while i take my headers monday to have them thermally coated... (whick will take about a week) i have to pull the motor and yank the pan off and have the little 12an fitting cut off and rewelded back on 3 inches towards the back! i love this stuff......
CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT HINDERS ME NEXT!
BUT HEY... technically...the headers are in and all the spark plugs have plenty of room for me to screw into the heads and put the wires on.

so with the super comps can you buy a Y pipe and bolt straight to the cat?

I'm gonna do headers the easy way. I'm gonna wait till I pull the nut cammed 305 out and drop in a 383-396 beast.

87tpi420, awesome combo! Coould I possibly get you to share some knowledge or insights about the DFI set up?

Mista, I'm 99% sure that Mufflex makes a Y-pipe for the Hooker long tubes.

the dfi, 420 block, super ram ,heads....its all new, have not run it yet. so i am at a loss about the dfi.just picked up my computer from a friend who ran it in his 406 malibu.and he adjusted it to run good in his car. i hope it is closer than what accel sets them at (from what i hear there dont run good from accel)but from one nightmare to the next...it is not as fun as it used to be. i started this motor swap project about two years ago. and have not run the car in about 4 years.so right now i just want to get it going. i am afraid go get it going in a way. the amount i have into the motor...i am afraid somthing is gonna go wrong.but...atleast when i pull the oil pan, i can see it there is any rust.there shouldnt be because of all the assembly lube when it was built.

also... i can put my headers in so easily because of the dry sump system. no kickout on the oil pan so i fan twist the headers to get em in.just like to share that cuz i said they went in soo easy. hopefully in about two weeks it should be all set (except for exhaust from the headers back
