Vortec headers?

I'm getting Vortec heads for my 383. They're L31's fro SDPC that come in a package with the RPM air-gap intake. I was wondering which headers are the best for these heads. Or will any headers for thirdgen's work? Thanks

The spark plug angle was different on my stock L98 heads compared to the vortecs but my Hedman headers still cleared all the spark plugs. They are a little trickier to get to but still easy

I could be wrong but I think the Vortec heads have a raised exhaust port. For that reason you'll want the SLP 1 3/4" headers so they'll clear without restrictions. However, if you're keeping the TBI, you wont make enough power to need the larger headers, so either the SLP 1 5/8" or the Hooker 1 5/8" is what I would recommend. Just stay away from the Edelbrock 1 1/2" / 1 5/8" inch. The smaller tubes will create a wall where they mate up.

Actually they have raised intake ports not exhaust...exhaust port is the same standard SBC exhaust port and my Edelbrock 1 5/8 line up perfectly....

The straw size 1.5" headers I had on mine mated to the head perfect. I even made a template to make sure. I did a little grinding on the welds, but they matched great. The power was good to, up until 5k rpm, then it kind of died. I am hoping the Hooker 1 5/8 I have to put on will raise that wall a little.

Hedman Ellites Ceramic coated, think flanges, quality headers, no dimpling to make em fit and 259.99 from jegs or summit.
