40 Series Flow on Firebird?

Is it possible to put a 40 Series Flowmaster on my 89 Firebird Formula? I've heard of people saying it works, so i just wanted to know if it did work?
Thanks in advance!

breathment, if its not dual, would it still sound loud and deep like it should, or would it be better to just go with the 80 series?

It would still sound loud. But Id get the 80 series. Like I said here many times, 80 series sounds GREAT! I know I dont got nuttin special cause it just the 80 series anyone can get, but its sounds soooooo mean!

Just last week I removed my SLP SS muffler and installed a 40 series 3"I/O. I was immediately smiling when I started it up. The main reason I did it was so that I would have a true 3" low restriction from the headers to the tip. Personally I feel its less restrictive than a crossover style. I have it tucked up under the bumper cover, tip turned down and painted black, you can hardly see it. Everyone takes notice when it's idling at a light. Man I love that HOT cam sound!

Steve is right, the cross flow muffler basicaly turn the exhaust flow 180*, while the 40 series has it run a straight shot to the left of the car, and all u have to do is put on a small dual tip on the end, and it would look pretty cool, and even though its not dual exhaust it WILL be extremely loud, the 40 series was designed for TRUE dual exhaust, so u would use two mufflers, or so that it splits after the muffler, or for people who just want ONE tail pipe.
