How much are you willing to spend?

Take the time and research the archives on this topic. There are some pretty good points of view.
Personally, I chose SLP Headers because of better workmanship. I got the 1 3/4 inch tubes because if I decide to swap in a bigger engine my exhaust won't be a restriction.
Cat converters are a must if you live where there is emissions testing. And in many places it is illegal to run straight pipes. However some people just run a straight pipe through a hollowed out cat to pass a visual check.
Like I said before, this option is pricey. The headers with necessary installation parts alone will set you back about $500. Add more $$ for ceramic coating and even more $$$ for labor charges.

I recently replaced the entire exhaust system in my 92 RS 350(was 305).I, too chose the SLP headers, but in 1-5/8" Primaries, since it's a TBI-mostly torque motor. They're well made and fit well, too. They are expensive , though.
I also got a Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-Back system,Part#17234 for stock cat,
Part#17133 with 3" Cat.I like the sound. Not really noisy, but very low tone, and tinney.
Also figured I might as well put in a bigger cat, so added 3" Slip-Fit cat from Catco (not the best brand, from what I've heard).
All together about $1000+ the cost of having it welded up after I got it all on.Also using embossed copper gaskets at the heads (another $45), so I don't have to chase exhaust leaks.
Ordered everything from Summit.Came in 2 days!
