new y-pipe

i got my car back with my new y pipe that i had made for the headers. the pipe from the drivers side is 2" past the passenger side about 8 inches. then it goes to 2.5 then to my 3" catback. going from the passenger side it goes sicht from the collector to the 2" with a 90* bend. it is smaller than the old one i had with the manifolds, do you think this will hurt it much?
incase you were wondering it is supporting about 250-300hp

Working with what you already have, I would cut out the 2" pipe starting in front of the passenger side pipe. I would then adapt to 3" in front of the Y, and go 3" all the way to your catback. May not be the ultimate, but you wouldn't have to completely start over.
From what I see and what you posted, your Y-pipe isn't really any better than most stock Y-pipes, because of the 2" and 2.5' pipe. I think you would notice a real difference if you changed it.
Hey, just my .02

Here's a picture of the SLP Y-Pipe I installed so you can see the better exhaust routing. The down pipes are 2.5"s going into a single 3" collector. You might want to have your y-pipe fabricated to look similar to this design. The exhaust system is only as good as it's weakest point.

the thing is that i just paid $100 to get it fabricated. my freind talked to him about making it for a 3" and all of that, i don't know exactly what he said but the guy who did the work said he could do it. i'm 15 and i don't have much money, that was about my last $100. the stock y-pipe was better than this one. will an SLP y-pipe work with summit headers(like i said i don't have much money)?

heres sone pics of the stock y-pipe i just took off.

The SLP Y-Pipe is made for stock exhaust manifolds. Since your headers didn't come with a y-pipe, and the y-pipe you had made is not any better than stock; I would just save some money and have a reputable muffler shop re fabricate the y-pipe with larger diameter exhaust tubes showing them the SLP Y-Pipe picture for reference.

i havn't got a chance to test it out to see if it performes any better than the stock manifolds yet. do you think it will be any better with the headers even though its got a smaller y-pipe?

also, how much do you think it will cost to have a peice made like lastvice was talking about made? just a 3" from the passenger side header to the catback.

i tested it out today and its a little better but not much. i figured that a 3" would be good because the area of the 2 2"s are 6.28". the area of a 3" pipe is 7.07" so that would be good untill i got something better.
