More Idiotic Questions

I'm a little stumped here and need someone to point me in the right direction.

I have a set of headers, bolted them on once when I had the car torn apart. They bolt up easily.

There is no one within about 60 miles who will make a custom Y pipe for me.

I don't want to pay an exhaust shop for 5 hours of labor to install these headers, when I can do it myself in about 2.

I don't want to put the headers on and have the car towed either.

So what is the simpliest solution? I did some exhaust on a volkwagen bug and was able to use clamps and such, but dont' think that will fly in this case. Not to mention, this will require some serious cutting when all you have is a small hack saw.

What would be the easiest and cheapest way to get headers installed?

Why not drive 61 miles with open headers? You could always rig some pep boys flexible piping for the mean time.

Yeah, the worst that would happen is you'll get an inspection notice, no ticket or anything.

Very interesting. I'd have to pull the old exhaust off though right? I don't think that there is enough room in there to have some of that cheap flexable pipe along with the original Y pipe.
