what all do I need to fit hooker long tubes?
I wanna put the 1 3/4 inch hooker long tube headers on my car but what all will I need to change? Will I need a mini starter? and I am using the PF35 oil filter but I dont have an oil cooler so will everything be ok there? And what else might I need to change.
Thanks in advance everyone.
Thanks in advance everyone.
Hedmans are so much cheaper, why? How is the fit with the Hedmans compared with the Hookers? what is the difference besides them being 1 5/8 instead of 1 3/4s?
Sorry for all the questions

someone on here put the headman long tubes on his car and had to grind away part of the control arm to make them fit and also there not exuasl lenght headers either.
so far the list i got my my car, i got the hooker supercomp long tubes from jethot, then i ordered the jegs prostart starter, universal Accel 300+ race wires with 90* boots on them, stage 8 lockin header bolts, and percey alumin collector and header gaskets. im waitin for the mufflex y pipe for the long tube headers. and i still need to order a set of accel shorty header spark plugs. and thats really it.
edit: oh yeah and ull need a lift or be able to get the front of the car off the ground by id say about 36'' becuz the headers go in from under the car and ull need about a good day , maybe 2 to instll them. i havent done mine yet, still waitin for parts but i plan on doin it all in hopefuly one day and i have access to a lift.

Doesn't anybody to a fu(king search anymore?! Geez. Search on "Hooker Long Tube Intallation" ... exactly what you are looking for ... and guess what? The first post listed in the search will be a post that lists my notes on intalling hooker long tube headers. What a novel idea ... a search. The button is in the top left between "f.a.q." and "home".

I would have to say no. There will be no 'bolting up'. There are 3 questions here:
1) Is you stock intermediate pipe long enough to mate with the mufflex y-pipe. Most catbacks should have an I-pipe that is long enough. However, the Flowmaster Force II catback for dual cats was not long enough due to a special after-cat y-pipe that comes with that system.
2) If your I-Pipe is welded to a converter or has a bend in it to reach the manifold y-pipe then you will need to obviously separate the I-pipe from this section of the exhaust. You may need to either trim the I-pipe or extend the I-Pipe.
3) You will probably need to expand the I-Pipe connection after shortening or lengthening the I-Pipe in order to fit the pipes together.

Thanks i am probably going to put the long tubes on and a cat back at the same time being that i still have the stock exhaust. I was thinking of doing it all myself and then if it doesn't fit having an exhaust shop make any modifications necessary. thanks John
