2 and 1/2 to 3" exhaust ?

2 and 1/2 to 3" exhaust ?
i have a 2 1/2" cat back on my gta right now im looking at buying a 3" intermidiate pipe and 3" tips.the guy at summit ses i can have the cat pipe made bigger to fit the 3" pipe and the intermidiate pipe and tips will fit over the 2 1/2 flowmaster muffler i have will this work?

Why would you go to all the trouble to do this? You do realize that wherever the exhaust is necked down to go through 2.5" it still will flow no better than the 2.5" pipe you already have. If you want to see a flow improvement go with 3" all the way back.

yeah i kinda firgured that i guess i was trying to save money i want to put a new engine in soon and i didnt want to spend a 800.00 on a new exhaust. i think im gonna change the engine and just put headers on to my 2 1/2" system.
