store what doughnut gaskets do I ask for so I can use the Y pipe?
Size?Part number? Any suggestions Greatly appreciated. Thanks

For exhaust doughnuts use either Fel-pro 60718 or the NEA brand NEA EX-53.

ebmiller - Are either of those solid metal? My driver's side collector gasket keeps blowing out. The header is in right, engine mounts are new, I've even cut and rewelded the y-pipe so the pipe would mate properly with the header, but nothing has worked. I REALLY need the solid metal one, but the parts store guys can only look up the wound steel with gasket material. Any help?

Let me explain what I said a bit more. What I posted was a clip from a response to the "SHould I get the SLP install kit with my headers??" question I asked on a F-body mailing list. That was part of the response I got from JimW on the list. Here's the rest of that reply I posted:
And here's the whole thread so you can read the rest if you like:

I haven't got headers installed yet nor have I personally used the gaskets. I just posted that from someone else's experience. Maybe someone else can jump in and give you some first hand info. I will be using the Fel Pro gaskets to install mine though. Maybe you could e-mail Jim and ask him.

As far as the install kit goes, I'm not getting it. I can't justify $80 for those parts, half of which I have or just won't work. Here's a reply to that question from the F-body mailing list I'm on:
(Courtesy JimW@slpfbody.com):
I'm using the Mr. Gasket Ultra seal header gaskets (square port, I have a LT1).
The bolts for the areas with spacers, you can use the stock ones ( you can also grab new ones at a hardware store or local Pep Boy's). For the ones with out spacers, standard header bolts will work.
For exhaust doughnuts i'm using Fel-pro 60718 or the NEA brand NEA EX-53.
The CAT adapter depends on what CAT setup you have. I ordered mine from Thunder Racing, think it was like $35-37 (single cat 3inch slip kind).
