Who has the LOUDEST exhaust?

I have a 305 TBI and my dynomax super turbo gives it that nice rumble, but loud.

I am just wondering what yall have:
1.size of pipes
2.type of muffler
3.exhaust tips.

just curious.

Does anyone wake up the neiborhood when you get or leave home in the morning?

Do you have to wear earplugs?

Anyone have been stoped because of a too loud of exhaust?

i was backing out of my parking spot in my apartments. and the way the parking lot is designed, there is parking of both sides, so i back up right next to this truck, and set off the alarm on accident. oops. mine isn't as loud as it is LOW!!! so low that basicaly you can't hear it, u know like having subs in ur car and its louder further away u get.. thats kinda how my exhaust is, but i wish i had true duals to give me the sound i really want. but theres probably alot of guys here with LOuder exhaust then me.

My friends modifed 96 Z28 is so loud that the Constable had to personally talk to him and tell him to put silencers or he will get a citation. He has B&M headers. and Borla cat-back. Every week he breaks the trans,at least once.

I think I won this pole. I've got 1 3/4" headers into a 3" pipe, then a 3" glasspack that runs along the driveshaft tunnel. With the cam I have, at idle, it's pretty f***ing wild. I'm putting my new Pace Setter catback on tomarrow. My old dual 2 1/4" staight pipes were loud as sh*t too. But that was when I had the 305. A cop heard me go by and he gave me a ticket for no muffler.

I definitely like the sound of my cut-out. If I had dual exhaust, and cut-outs, it would sound worse. Like a roundy-round car. I think it's because all 8 exhaust pulses are coming from the same spot, it sounds less like a poor running Harley (like there's any other kind ).
Of course, get on it, and people's heads swing like they're on swivels.
BTW my 3" cut-out is before the cat.

My setup is certainly not the loudest of the bunch. It rumbles pretty quiet at idle, has that sweet sound between 1500 - 2500 rmps, and definitely gets attention at WOT.

It suits me just fine!

maybe it was a 302 with a 351 crank, this is a pretty popular stroker combo, comes out to 347 cui.

oh and the exhaust i have is pretty loud, nice tone and a fair rumble, and i can set off car alarms with it, but when i put the headers dual 3-inch pipes and the monster cammed 400 in im sure i will not be able to keep the boys in blue off my back..

Actually that would still be a 351 (Windsor, Cleveland). The 302 (4.9L) Ford is a 4.00" bore by 3.00" stroke engine, and the 351 (5.8L) is a 4.00" bore by 3.50" stroke. The 347 (which is 5.6L) is a 302 (4.03" bore) with a 3.40" stroke.

As for the loudest exhaust, try 1-3/4" SLPs with a straight pipe, 4" mufflex with a Flowmaster my arm fits through.

This might seem weird but the Grand Prix is going to be in Downtown Houston. While I was going to school, I heard this wiered loud noise, i was in Downtown. For a second i thought there were at least 13000 vacuume cleaners turned on. As i went towards the noise...The Grand Prix cars were practicing, i guess. Those little engines sure sound loud.

Just out of curisity...Does anyone know what the type of exhaust those little cars have?

How about no exhaust? I thought race cars just straight piped it. I don't know as a matter of fact though... I think I've got a pretty loud exhaust. It's as loud as my friends Mustang GT and that has exhaust leaks all over, and it's got true duals... All I have is stock exhaust with a gutted cat. Some of the noise is probably from intake...

i have SLP 1-3/4" headers, a 3" hollow cat (haha) and a 2-3/4" intermediate pipe feeding into a flowmaster 40 series muffler. it is pretty damn loud when i step on it, but at idle its not too bad. i could set off car alarms like 2 houses down if i wanated to. its the muffler though..the 40 series is the loudest street flowmaster you can get.

With the headers the exhaust is loud..but I'm opting for a Hooker Aerochamber muffler now. Just gonna do that; I was originally going to yank the cat but now I'm going to just get a Dynomax high-flow one (got one cheap) so...

Had a cop pull me over in traffic and give me a $86 doller noise violation ticket and he said that he was was about six or seven cars ahead of me when he finally had enough and decide to pull over and wait for me. I think I probably could have gotten myself out of the fine, but I dont think he was to impressed when he asked me if I was going def from from all that noise and i replied "huh".
I've got edelbrock 1 5/8 headers, 3" cat replacement pipe(custom made), flowmaster catback and I wouldn't have it any other way or it would probably anoy the sh*t out of me.

I know I sound like an old man here but is there any reason besides getting attention (good or bad?) for having a loud *** exhaust. I hate to say it but it's like cranking up your stereo nobody outside the car is going to appreciate it. As a matter of fact I once bet my friend 50 bucks that 7 out of 10 people think his car sounds like **** (he has a 355cu. tfs heads, slp headers, flowmaster catback w/cutout, and a big cam) and I won. I mean don't you guys think that civic (you know the one) with the loud *** exhaust is annoying? And don't tell me it's for power because there is no reason to run open headers or a cutoff on the street.

5.6 mustang is probably a stroked 5.0, 347 ci or 357 ci depending on the crank.

I think mine is pretty loud. I have Edelbrock TES Headers 1-5/8 primaries, w/ 3" collector, 3" straight pipe for my cat and a custom 3" exhaust w/ a flowmaster 80 series 3" in and dual 2.5" out. This is what it sounds like.

My dad has a modified dirt track car with a 406 and that thing sure is loud. It sounds sweet as hell, but it runs off alcohol so when you get close it starts burning your eyes and choking you and stuff.

My 92 is stock, so it isn't that loud, but my 75 is loud as hell. Pontiac 350, Dynomax headers, straight pipes about 2.5' long before they turn and dump out the sides. When we get the big cam in it and bump the compression a little it will be louder, but it is very loud now. We start it in the garage and rev it up and things fall off the shelves. Every time I start it my neighbors come over to check the progress on it because they know I'm working on it. *** , I love that car.

355, 10.5:1 compression, Big Cam (248/254 @ .50 with .545/.565 lift), TFS G2 Heads, Full lenght headers, Dual 3in pipe with Flow tech afterburner mufflers (loud as 40 series). Sounds cool at idle but even better up around 6750 RPM's. It has honestly set off a car alarm about 2.5 blocks away just leaving a stop sign normal.

Yeah, the 351 is listed as 5.8L. The 351W is a very sweet engine--I have it in a Shelby Cobra replica I just finished. 2 things about that car:

1)"kit cars" get a bad name because of all the retard who put ferrari F40 bodies on Fieros and stuff like that. I don't know about the other cobra manufacturers, but the "kit" I got was a frame and a body manufactured by the company and boxes of aftermarket parts by good brands. You build the car from the ground up.

2)My Cobra (I don't consider SVT pusstangs to be real cobras)is fast. A guy I know got a new Z06 corvette and it cannot come close to keeping up off the line, accelerating from any speed, whatever (of course my car weighs 2300 lbs)

351`s have a taller deck height than a 302 thats why its a 347 not a 351 when u put the 351 crank in a 302 block, check any mustang sight and u should be able to find this to be true.

Mine is pretty loud right now. Just the Hooker Super Comp long tubes on the 406. I have to get it to the muffler shop to get the rest done. It does sound pretty frigging mean now though.

Otherwise, the guy down the block with the Honda with a 5" tip
