is there a special way to weld stainless steel?

is there a special way to weld stainless steel?
just wondering cuz i didnt know if it will b more expensive than for chrome ones or not.......thanks

stick = no enless u have the right electrods that and the correct heat settin on the welder or else ull blow thru ur nice SS pipe.
mig = good, just need wire for stainless steal welding and ur set.
what u would be better off doin is TIG welding the pipes but they will be very expensive to have someone to weld it up for u enless u have a big ol tig welder laying around.
but the best would be tig but if ya cant get it done with that then get a mig welder and go to a welding supply company and get a spool of S.S. wire and ull be set.
edit: also it would be easier to weld chrome pipe then s.s. becuz the chrome pipe is just regualer still chormed and u could use just a mig welder and regular wire.

TIG is just for welding aluminum i thought???
as far as the stick welder, you just have to find the right stick and heat setting like tim said just like in the MIG you have to find the right speed for the wire.

tig welding u can weld: steel, alumin, stainless steel, titanium, and basiclly any kinda metal u can find and just have to have the correct tungstan in the weldin torch and the correct type of fillarod and the correct shielding gas.
