Installing shorty headers...

I got shorty headers partially because of the clearance problems of long tube headers. My car has been recently lowered, and long tube's sit about 1 1/2 " off the ground. Anyone know what kinda y pipe will bolt up to a set of hooker shorty headers? Will stock work? Any tips/advice would be helpful. Thanks

Do a search, theres lots of info on it. the stock y pipe will not work and you wouldnt want it to either. You will have to have a y pipe made at an exhaust shop.

A search would tell you that there is no pre-fabricated y-pipe for the Hooker 2460 headers you purchased. Having a y-pipe fabricated of any quality is most likely going to be very expensive.

You should have gotten the Hooker 2055 headers. They come with an excellant y-pipe, and would probably cost less than what you're going to pay for the 2460's and having a good y-pipe fabricated.

Well I got these shorty's for $45 brand new. I couldn't really pass up that deal. headmen has a y-pipe I found for the shorties, the part # is 17470, but I looked on their website and can't find them. But the only reason I went with these headers is the price I got them for. Can't beat $45 for brand new headers.

True, but then again, saving aggrivation from having to have a quality y pipe made, may have been worth the money.

How much are we looking at for a custom y-pipe to be made?
