What coating is the best >> and more?????

Getting a new set of SLP's soon

I have a few questions ..

First Is there any point to putting them on a 305 nearly stock {but Nos shot}??... (cause I'm bulding a 383 right now) and I want to use them on this motor if I will see any good gains..

Second What Type of coating is the best ?? "I have never coated headers before so I know nothing about it" I dont want to go too much$$

Third how long will the coating last and keep it's look???

and last How well will the SLP air injection hook up ??? any mods/adaptors??

I know that's a lot of question but if you can help I would be greatful..
Thanks

SLPs don't rust so you don't "need" coating. Jet Hot is a big name for coatings. People that have put them on 305s have said nothing but nice things.

How much would I expect to pay to get them coated ?

Is it really worth it ??

I thought that there is a hp gain to be made when you get them coated

There should be a gain because the gas stays hotter but I really doubt its worth anything close to $250.

On SLPs, it's worth it if you want it to look good and stay looking good forever. SLPs should last forever without the coating, but they'll discolor slightly. So basically, it's mostly about your concern for their appearance. On the performance aspects, well, all most of us have is the propaganda on it.
Jet-Hot is supposed to last and keep it's look for the life of the headers or they recoat it for free, unless you modify or weld on them (so states their warranty), or the exhaust temps go past 1300 degrees F. They have a slightly more expensive coating that's good up to 2000 degrees IIRC, but it's not available in as many colors as the 1300.

The SLP installation kit comes with everything you need to install the headers, including the AIR hose "adapters".
