cherry bombs, also know as glass packs, also known as *** packs. their a big restriction, unless u get like a 5" on and ur using 2.5" pipe, take a look inside of one and you'l see what i mean. get SLP loudmouth.

plus i think the cherrybomb would more be considered as a resonator. which are good when their not glass packs. do some more searching you'l find alot better things.

however the only good thing about them is they're like $20 each.

Really? My buddy has one on his '92 RS (just a 6) and I'd compare the sound to a stock exhaust from a 305. It really sounds good. Just wonderin about the quality. It says on the bottom of the muffler "VORTEX-high performance " and then "cherry bomb" real small underneath that-I guess I say that, cause it really doesn't sound much like what you're describin.....I could be wrong though.

cherry bomb glasspacks are straight thru. car craft tested them and they flowed pretty good.

ya, there not bad for flow. but the sound will change. i think they would be best for cars with ground clearence problems, but then again im not sure. personaly if u want, you can get them, make sure that u get the biggest u can get. their cheep enough

the vortex is not a glass pack. It is made by cherry bomb though. It is similar in design to a flowmaster. I have not heard to many good things about these. Look into a spintech or magna flow. Back to glasspacks though, they are actually not restictive at all if you buy a quality one. They will out flow a Flowmaster (quickly replacing the glasspack as the *** of all reneck mufflers) before you flame me on them outflowing a flowmaster, you better have flow and HP data to back it up...because I do. Oh yeah, even if you go with a good glasspack, it's still gonna sound like one.

i agree with you about them outflowing flowmaster.. most mufflers do. i just know that some glass packs, when u look inside of them, are alot smaller in diameter then the pipes going in. my main problem with them is i heard they burn out after a while.

and could u tell me the CFM for the 80 series if u have it, i ask because before i brought mine, i was looking to compare and couldn't find any data, and im still curious for future purchases.

it'll be loud but you'll need to replace them every other year or so. My cousin has them on his 79 vett (no cats headers no smog) they sound ok at idle but they dont sound all that bad when he gets going

the vortex muffler is what i have on my 5.0 camaro. I was totally impressed by the sound. For the cost, you cant go wrong. I think i even felt a small power increase. I have had the muffler on my car for about a year now. Like most glasspack mufflers, it only sounds better after its been used a while. You could spend +$400 for a borla exhaust system, but why? If you have that much money to blow on an exhaust system and your not using it for strictly racing, you just got too much bloody money....... thats my opinion anyway
