ceramic header question

ok guys i put headman ceramic coated shorty headers on my car, no air injection, but i have this weird burning candle type smell i believe they are definately coming from the headers, i put about 400 miles on them, sometimes it smells worse than others, i checked all wires, and plug wires, nothing is melting, anyone else have this problem?

Check to see if the y-pipe is melting something.

It doesn't have to hit something to melt it.

It could also just be grease/oil, etc. burning off. You know, the oil they ship it in and grease from handling them during installation. Although I wouldn't think there'd still be some after 400 miles. Did your car have AIR before the headers?

My headers have a few hundred miles on them and still have a burning smell also; it's the nature of the coating and protectant, I assume; it should go away after awhile.
