hedders??????????

I have a couple of ?'s with these damn hedders. When i frist got my new motor i had a pair of flowtechs and i ran into all kinds of troubles with them. so i put the stock manifolds back on just so i could run my y-pipe. The motor is a pretty bad little 406 and i know that they are killing its performance. And i really want to run long tubes and i have a rather small budget $350-400. So if anyone can tell me the best ones to go with i will not have to sell my car.

Hedman hedders $100.00 for the 82-92 camaros are full-length but they say will not clear stock floor pans modifications required???
they also have shortys for $100.00

Dynomax only has shortys for $132.00

Hooker super comp has them for $400.00 (dont know if shorty or long tube? include y-pipie?)

Hooker comp $142.00 but are they long tube? and they dont say anything about mods.

Hooker comp shortys $350.00 with y-pipe.

I would really like to run the Hooker comp. long tubes but has anyone installed this yet and what problems did they have? do they clear everthing alright? what about a y-pipe or somthing like that? Pics would really be helpful.

Sorry so long and you guys probley get this ? alot but if you would just let me know i will be forever thankfull.

I think mufflex makes a pipe for the hooker 1-3/4" longtubes. Don't put a 1-5/8" header on the 400, you'll choke it. The only exception is the non emissions hookers. They are 1-5/8" intermediate length headers but have a big 3" header flange. The legal hookers with the y are the ones I got. $350. the ball flange connection is pretty small. Max anyone has opened it is 2-1/4"
