Bigger, badder, exhaust.

So, as I've whined about before, I have the LG4 Edelbrock TES headers on my new 350, which is gotta go sooner or later.
I went and bought a flowmaster Y-pipe collector, which is dual 2.25" in and single 3" out, to mate up with my 3" catback exhaust. Yes, there is some weird plumbing on this car.
Anyway, are most Ypipes that come with headers 2.5" ?? If so, I'm pretty much wasting my time I guess with the Flowmaster pipe, and might as well snag some new headers.
My setup is pretty mild: comp cams xe262, 882 heads, flattops, performer manifold, tweaked Qjet.
I *really* don't wanna flow another 500 bucks on a y-pipe/header combo, but, sigh...
Are these 2.25 y-pipes sufficient? probably not.
opinions? emissions are of no concern.
later,
Hype.

The Hedman y-pipe I have is 3" and fits Hedman shorty's (1 5/8") perfectly. It was $99 from Summit. The headers themselves are also $99.
