PLEASE HELP!!! A.S.A.P.!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, i really need to know if Im safe. I have a stock exhaust system on my 85 Trans AM. except for the fact where my cat was, I cut it off and have flex pipe going back to my muffler. Well, tonight I was driving it hard and the clamp that holds the flexpipe to my muffler must have come loose, because it came off. Well, it sounds SOOO good... until I can afford a new system. I was wondering if it will hurt my engine (burn the valves) or anything if I kept it like this. Is it recommended? I was also wondering if I will lose performance or will I gain it?
Thanks
Thanks
No way. It won't hurt anything if its that far back. In fact you could probably disconnect it at the cat if you wanted.. Even with open headers I wouldn't be too scared, but you probably want to leave the y-pipe.
i would also recommend leaving yer windows open, 'cause exhaust is supposed to leave the back of the car for a reason, unless you set it up on purpose like that and make sure you have no holes in the floor or anything.
