2 cats

I just bought an 89 iroc 5.7tpi, and i need to know about the exhaust on it. from the back i see 2 tailpipes and 1 transversly mounted muffler. From the front i see stock manifolds. I want to know(without squeezing under the car) if i have one catalytic converter or 2. Is there an option number that would tell me that?

Yer gonna need to slide underneath that bad-boy. Hard to say what determined 1 or 2 cats, although I once heard it had to do with "axle-ratio"? If its 2-cats, your car was then rated by G.M. with "10" additional hp,due to better exhaust flow. Hope ya got 2. Good luck.

If you look at the RPO codes, a G92 package will have dual cats. I think the actually code for dual cats was N10, but not positive, but I'm not sure if you could get them without G92. Hope this helps some. You also may be able to see just be looking under the car and not actually getting under it.
