Performance diff's between super comp shorties and SLP
I really want to get headers soon but I am afraid SLP's are just to expensive. Is there much difference in performance between the hooker super comp shorty and the SLP 1 5/8". Is the only difference like a few HP if that much? I will get them coated but they will still be so much cheaper than SLP. I have heard to many bad things about Edelbrock. Also I already have the Hooker cat-back so I can make it a full hooker exhaust (except for the 3" dynomax cat that will have to go in)
I would love to hear how your car responded and sounded after you installed the super comp shorties.
Mods are in my sig...which headers would I benifit from more?

I don't think anyone would argue about the SLP's being the best out there. Most do something else to save money. I don't recall anyone saying they went from Hooker to SLP, though. Perhaps someone will chime in.
The Hooker 2055's are doing just fine with my mods. I saved even more money by striping the shipping paint off them and doing the high temp paint routine. I'm not trying to say that is just as good as coating (coating will last longer and does a much better job of retaining heat), but it is another way to save money.
Your mods are not nearly as extensive as mine. And, I can't say how much difference the headers themselves made, because I did all of the mods at one time. But, I would recommend opening up the collector ball flange from the way Hooker leaves it (they said it's small to help prevent leaks - true if you assume misalignment to the y-pipe). I can imagine only restriction with just a 1.9" diameter opening. They should still be a nice step up over the factory exhaust at any rate.

So if I go with the Hookers I won't me missing out on to miuch from the SLP's. I want performance over anything. But if the HP/Torque difference between the two is vary small, than I will just go with the cheaper ones - the hookers. So whats with the small ball flange everyone talks about? Is it something easily modified before instalation?

You have an electric angle grinder? If so, easy.
If you get the 2055's, I'd suggest getting the shorties in the car, then doing a fit check of the y-pipe. With the y-pipe off, grind open the ball flange with the angle grinder, centering the opening based on where the down pipes mate (mine were different from side-to-side). I took mine to about 2-1/4" diameter, which is close to the ID of the downpipes.

UHG.
I wish something was actually a "bolt on."
I liked those shorties but don't feel like grinding on them. I would hate to mess up and not be able to install them right. I will have these installed (merely because of the headaches involved). Maybe spending the extra cash on the SLP's is not so bad after all. I wish I could see how much work was involved in grinding those to 2 1/4." That seems like a huge flaw on Hooker. 1.9" is very small!! Seems like any head would out perform that unless you did grind it.
