Will the SLP headers bolt up to fast burn heads?

Anybody have any experience with this? Either fast burns or Vortecs? Thanks.

yeah they defnitley bolt up to vortecs..and they will bolt up to the fast burns as well.

the only thing is that on the fast burns, they are already "ported" from GM so the ports may not match up perfectly (the exhaust ports may be larger than the headers). the 1-3/4" SLPs should fit better than the 1-5/8" ones.

The exhaust ports on FastBurn heads are MUCH different from the ports on Vortec heads!!!

Get a GMPP catalog to see the difference. They will physically bolt-up, but the ports are in a different location and are of a different shape, compared to Vortecs!!!

The ports on fastburns are D-shaped. I believe Hedman has a new header that will bolt to them correctly. Try www.paceparts.com.

The 1.75in SLPs will work. I have them on my fast burn heads. Yeah, the exhaust port is a D-shape and it is raised a bit higher too. With the large diameter of the primaries on the SLPs, and the thick flange, I was able to do enough grinding to get a good match. You will also have to trim the header gasket. I have no leaks and Im using a POS gasket too. There are plenty of other guys that have this same setup as well. Doubt it would work with a 1 5/8 header though.
