Is there any exhaust out there that gives the performance gains of some of the louder mufflers but is as quiet as stock, if not quieter?

I think Dynomax makes the quietest aftermarket exhaust, and it adds more power over stock as well.

 

I just installed a walker ultra-flo welded muffleron my car. This is a very good flowing very quite muffler. Walker does not offer as a kit, but they do offer every part you will need. Check out their web site.

The pipes are from the cat to the muffler. My car had new tail pipes so I just reused them. The pipes fit great no rattles or bumps. I am very pleased with my system.

I just got a magnaflow system for my car. I think it might be just what your looking for. It has a really nice low pitched sound, and it flows really good. It is one of the best flowing mufflers out there, and I think it might be the best flowing dual outlet muffler out there. It isnt real loud either. It is just a little than a stock system. I dont think they have a kit for the 3rd gen cars, but the I told the exhaust shop that I wanted mandrel bent 3" pipe, a magnaflow muffler, and mandrel bent outlet pipes and he put it together for me. I am extremely happy with mine, not to loud, but definitely a really nice sound.
