question on installing a cat back system

question on installing a cat back system

how hard would it be to install a hooker cat-back or a flowmaster cat-back? is it pretty easy? about how long does it take and is it easy to take off the old pipes and muffler? my dad is planning on either getting a hooker cat-back or the american thunder from flowmaster. thanks alot.

Remove and replace.

About the hardest part for me is getting the car high enough for my belly to clear.

Seriously..... a sawzall will help.

Just hack out the old system from the cat, back. You can actually cut the bolts that hold the old system to the cat since you should use new ones anyway. Those are the only bolts that are used. All the other stuff is supported by rubber hangers (if it's still stock).

It's VERY easy. Have fun and enjoy your Hooker. :sillylol:

Alright cool, I guess I need to get me a sawzall then But we will probably end up using a hacksaw. The bolts come with the new system right? They probably do. The only problem we might have is that he is getting a 3 inch system and I don't think the stock cat is 3 inches.

If i had it to do again, I'd buy the Hooker cat-back. Hacksaw works good. Mine all unbolted, but the stock 1-piece I-pipe was a bitch, so I hacksawed it in two. - Pretty simple and straight forward. Remove and replace.
