Need help with project 1984 z28 Camaro

I have a 1984 z28 Camaro that I am working on. As of now I plan to replace the stock exhaust manifold, but am having trouble finding headers that will work with my car. Every time I look on places like jegs.com, summitracing.com, dynomax.com, edelbrock.com, and find the headers I want there is always something about may not work with stock compartments, egr vehicles, angled plugs...if you can't tell me what ones I can use could you point me to a page that has all the specifications of the engine for my specific vehicle..im talking down to the size of the bolts that the manifold uses. Anything would help..im most interested in Dynomax or Edelbrock headers.

*Also, looking to put edelbrock manifold and carb on my vehicle as stock replacements. Any recommendations on working combinations that would work with my 84 z28 w/egr.

Thanks,

David C. Marsh, Jr.

On my '84, I run the edelbrock #6871-1 chrome plated headers with AIR, which is rediculous as I took the AIR out anyways, but Oh well. The next step up, I forget the PN, but the edelbrock headers for the TBI W/O air before 86 will work just fine. I tossed out the butter fly valve and cut&crimped the AIR tubes, as well as cutting the 2 1/4 Y pipe off and welded in a 3 inch collector to attach to the test tube.

As far as intake and carb setups, I went with the Air Gap RPM, PN 1702 I believe. I also went with the new thunder series carb, PN 1805, after having ran the performer carb PN 1405, for the past year and a half. Both ways, I have no complaint about either of them, and along with the crane cams valve train, it works very well for me.

If you have to pass emissions, this might not be the best way to go, as the Air Gap is not available with EGR (thank heavens ). You can however order a catalogue from edelbrock and get all the PN's you need to make an emissions compliant setup for your engine, which I am assuming is the 305 HO or just the regular 305.
