Hooker Cat-back ?'s
I've only got a LO3 now, but I wanta better sounding exhaust. I'm leaning towards the Hooker cat-back from Summit. Does it just bolt right up, or is there some fabrication involved? Also, I want a deep, throaty idle, but it can't be TOO loud, because it's my daily driver. Does the hooker have this? Thanks in advance,

If you get the part # for your engine code it will bolt right up.
As far as the sound, I think on an LO3 the idle might be quiter than you like, however noticable and not too loud. Course you saidyou don'twant it too loud, but loud is relative. When you get on it WOT the Hooker screams.

I love my HOOKER! Quiet at idle and part throttle/crusing, but it really sounds awesome starting at about 2800 on the tach right on up to redline. It will sound even better when I do my motor swap.

Does the Hooker have a deep throaty idle? I've heard that Dynomax has a good deep idle, could I use a different muffler, or does the Hooker muffler sound good? Thanks

I just installed a set of edelbrock TES headers and a 3'' hooker catback today and it definetly isnt to loud. Its down right quiet. Im comparing it to the dual 2 chamber flowmasters ive ran for the last 6 months.
It sounds good. Idle is pretty quiet. All around not that loud. But Im happy. My car doesnt shake anymore (because the mufflers were bolted to the floor board), i have ground clearance, and I dont gag on fumes anymore.
BTW the hooker tips look mean.

I have the hooker 3" catback minus cat. It's quiet at idle and cruise above 35mph as already stated. However it's definately there anytime you're accelerating any faster than your grandma and sounds damn mean and loud when you get anywhere from 1/2 throttle on up. I'm super glad I got this catback. Excellent build material, welds and brackets. No complaints. And it doesn't drone like some other mufflers at speed.
