questions

I just put on the 68470 hedmen headers and the y pipe to a straight pipe to the flowmaster 3 chamber muffler. These headers dont have AIR, so i ripped off the emissions crap on my car. what will i notice? good/bad differences....? what should i worry about?

I think it might cause an O2 sensor problem, leading to horrible gas milage, but I could be mistaken.

From what Ive gathered....the AIR system is mostly for idling and de-accelerating.... I cant see where that would pose a major problem for the 02 sensor...as long as the car is tuned correctly. I havent had any problem with mine....my smog stuff has been off for years and I havent noticed a decrease in mileage, but then again...my car is a 355, not a 305 with tbi or a carb...But, it should be ok.....dont hold me to it...

Only thing I could really tell ya is to try it......It should be ok....I know when you take off the smog pump, it will throw a code in the ecm......till you get a new chip. I did seem to notice a little better throttle response, and the engine seemed to run cooler...but that might have been in my head..

before i did the headers i unplugged the air pump and removed the belt for a few hundred miles and no SES, so that was my OK to get going on the headers...so far no AIR, and no SES

Shouldn't throw any codes. Run mine for 2 yrs with no AIR or SES light.
