ive seen them everywhere from where the cat is suppost to be, to the straight part next to the tranny, to right before the curve over the axle, to after the axle before the muffler....

On my 92 i will be putting it in place of the cat and in my LS1 I will very shortly have dual cutouts right after the collectors on the long tube headers. If your gonna do it, do it right. Like AFatHippo said, put it infront of the cat, otherwise it pretty much defeats the purpose of a cutout all together.
