I've done quite a few searches but have yet to see a topic address this issue. Since I NEED to stay smog legal I'm looking for a good catalytic converter that also flows well.

Seeing as how I have no welding skills a direct fit cat would make me much happier.

Random tech metallic series flows the best. The catco is also a good cat and it is a direct replacement.

One of the exhaust shops around here is going to quit selling the Catco cats. Apparently (according to them), the Catco cats are failing the emissions test around here. I can't confirm that, but that's what he said. He said a lot of the shops are getting rid of them.

Nani? Failing emissions?

GM High performance needs to do a REAL comparison that compares flow rates, as well as emissions on these cats. Its like a freaking mystery. I've read articles about how they flow, but none of them made any comments on how WELL they work.

Somewhere on here somebody posted a link to a comparison on another board which was very interesting. The guy did flow comparison on different cats and random cats flowed the best. I just got a catco from ups, but emissions aren't a problem here and it was only 37 dollars. If they are failing emissions I guess you get what you pay for.

I read that article, but no-where in the article did it mention how well the catalytic converters actually worked to reduce emissions while still maintaining a high flow.
