Why is it taking so long

Ok, i took off my exhaust friday, and it still all off. Why is it taking so long for me to fix this? I need to know if anyone has had run into any other problems involving the universal catco cats and an aftermarket cat back. None of the old hangers worked, no one makes long enuff or wide enuff couplers for the job, and im gettin realy pissed cause i dont know what to do. should i just give up and take it to a muffler shop and have them do it up or should i just keep workin on it myself. I really wana do it myself cause i just want to cut down on spending money. Could a muffler shop make custom couplers for my cat to y pipe and cat to i pipe? or am i dreaming?

"Direct-fit cat."

Summit p/n CAT-9118.

Send back/return the universal, assuming you haven't damaged it yet.

The higher cost of the direct-fit is much less than what you'll spend adapting the universal.

i dont know if i mentioned that i got the cat back that does not fit my car, at least the flange didnt. I cut the 4 bolt flange off and now i was just gunna bolt everything up and then weld it on later.. and is that cat high flow? And i went to summit and its showing n/a not availiable. Any more advice?

Sorry, CTO-9118. Yes, it's high flow.

It won't bolt to a 4-bolt. I assumed you had what was supposed to fit your model. Given your mix of parts, your best bet might be to take it to an exhaust shop and have them connect it all together.

bigal, if your original cat has the right sized ball flange then you can cut it off and weld it to a regular 3" pipe. Thats what I did with my universal catco and I used muffler clamps on both ends of the cat.

I hope this isn't too late, I'll take some pics tomorrow for you.

hehe yea its too late... i went to midas and got 3in OD pipe to make some crafty (read crappy) adapters and ahhh i dunno.. minus the 6-8 clamps... it dont look that bad... but ill tell ya one thing... THIS BIATCH AINT COMIN OFF! hehe i plan on welding it after its all done cause i heard that the over the axle pipe and i pipe have a tendance to seperate... I test fitted most of it today, and i need to trim here and there.. and need about 5 more 3 in clamps and i should be done... but tomorrow i help out my friend(Nikh23) with a trans swap... you thought the exhaust was bad... im gunna need to pop some meds before i do this one... No lift, just ramps, stands and jacks... Shadetree mechanics... hehehe i hope to get home and get the exhaust done and ill be happy finaly.. will keep everyone posted...

You can see what I did with my old ball flange and some regular old exhaust tubing. It is weird though, the cat seems to be a bit big for the y-pipe.
