Installing complete exhaust system
I am going to attempt to remove and replace my exhaust system in my garage.
I am going to just cut the old exhaust oil. Can anyone tell me if they think my car being on ramps will be enough?

After a huge ordeal just getting the car on ramps out back and jack stands up front - I'm calling it a night. Granted, we had to clean the garage first tho...
Anyhoo - We're gonna get started tomorrow on the exhuast.
Can anyone tell me what the first step of the process would be? I'm thinking of just cutting the old exhaust out, not saving it.

my muffler was shot, and if i had a cutting tool i would of cut it off but i lossened up the band clamp and got it off, the hardest for me was getting the stupid stock 1 piece i-pipe out from under the car. but after some twisting and dropping the panhard bar and the bar ontop of it it came out fairly well. i would start from the back to the front. i had to use my car every day almost so i had to do exhaust over a whole weekend.

I started the project 2 days ago. The entire stock exhaust system minus the manifolds is out. I'm having severe problems getting to some of the bolts.
Other than that, my air tools have worked relatively well.

Was taking off the y-pipe tough? i have to take mine off to replace it and the studs that hold it to the manifolds look intimidating. Were you able to get yours off w/o breaking them? and what tools did ya use? thanks....

The Y-Pipe came off really easy. I have already disconnected the cat-back, so that made it easier, but I don't see any problems leaving it on.
Anyway, I believe that all I used was an extension and a deep 15mm socket. That was for the actual nuts/studs holding the Y-Pipe to the manifolds. The only other thing was like 1 15mm bolt/nut holding the cat up. Once those 5 bolts were out, the Y-Pipe fell down.

Just like this:
Ramps out back, stands in front. I could fit pretty easy under it w/o any real discomfort.

It was the original as far as I could tell.
I think I put some penetrating oil on it. Just the $2 can stuff worked for me.
I used a breaker bar over my ratchet too.

Well, last night i went at it, propped the car up and sprayed the bolts with oil. used a breaker bar and the driver side both popped off perfectly, then i moved to the passenger side, first try, BAM, broke the damned stud right in half. already set up an appointment with my local shop to have them remove it. but thanks for all your help, i wouldve had to take it to a shop ne way.
