Is it worth it to ceramic coat SLP headers?

Finally got the SLP headers bought. MY buddy suggested getting them ceramic coated. I thought that was mainly for corrossion and these are already stainless, but he said it helps on keeping in the heat as well. I am mainly interested in performance with this car and I know a guy who has a shop and will coat them for like $130. Worth it or not? Also what about coating the Y pipes as well? Im don't think he is including that in the price he gave my but I am not sure.

Larry,

Deff. worth it. $130 is about right on the $ also.... I get 125for Shorties and $150 for long tubes to ceramic coat.

Coat them. If $130 gets both headers and the Y pipe then DEFINITELY coat them.

Yeah, I would get them coated.
Stainless steel or not, mine are uncoated and pretty ugly now, and it's true that with the coating, they'll put less heat into the already hot engine compartmemnt.

I would do it just for looks alone even if the coating didnt help heat. I have those on my car and they do turn a brown color. SLPs will Probably never rust out. But if you have spent alot of time on dressing up your motor. like I have, the coated headers are worth it.

Thats a good price even for just the headers. I was quoted 180-200 from two different places.
